"Glamour Girls" for Theme Thursday

Here is my "Glamour Girl" for this week's challenge at Theme Thursday which is "glamour girls"
My girl was courtesy of Art-e-zine
The background was made with paisley stamps...stamped in black and gold on a "stone" backing which was scuffed with silver.
The scary thing is I remember using this make-up....but it never made me look like that!
Catch up with you all on Sunday...have a good weekend x

"Flowers" for "Theme Thursday"

Theme Thursday have chosen "Flowers" as the theme for this week so here is my entry.
I've turned a gothic arch upside down to make my piece.
The embellishments are strips of florist's ribbon rolled into "beads" and wrapped and tied with cord.
I hope you like it !

"Labels" for "Theme Thursday"

Well I was going to make a more conventional piece for the challenge at Theme Thursday ...especially with the beautiful labels download they have given us.. but a bit of news this morning sent me off on a different track. Apparently we have to stop throwing away so many clothes and I am of an age where NOTHING was thrown away...everything was rehashed and re-cycled to death !
With that in mind and remembering my mums sewing box, filled with every scrap she'd saved, I set about making a collage of my own bits and pieces. My pink and silver label is a clothes ones and is folded behind the threads (which I've put on the material I've used)
I put the padlock and chain on to remember the fun of punk fashion and I left loads of "threads" seeing as that is a slang term for clothes.
So.... "clothes are what you make them"....using all your bits and pieces.... a touch of ingenuity...and a dash of style !
(... One thing no one can accuse me of is having style Lol lol lol....!)

I hope you like this bit of fun....and please click on pic if you want to see a bit closer

Borders for "Theme Thursday"

Here is my entry for this weeks challenge at Theme Thursday
which is borders.
I made my border using a gold Krylon pen.
A friend of mine is expecting the arrival of her first grandchild any day now so all the talk of babies has been the inspiration for this piece.
I do hope the expected grandchild is a bit more cheerful than this dear little mite!
(I drew along the edge of a paper tearing ruler to make the ziz-zag shape of the border )

2"x 4" for Theme Thursday

This is a new size for us to try for the challenge on "Theme Thursday" this week.
It was nice to try something a bit different so I enjoyed it.
I think I may be doing a few more of these !
(I tore up strips of paper and overlaid them, then stamped over that and then put on the image and embellishments.)

Vintage...Two Challenges !

Here is one of the pages from a "Coffee filter" book I am making. The shape is based on a coffee filter and working with it was certainly a challenge! It seemed a good idea when I started but all the different angles have proved to be quite difficult.
Anyway I've done six pages up to now so I'll stick with it and hopefully get it finished soon !
I am entering this page in this weeks "Theme Thursday " challenge which is "Vintage"
...and "Created By Hand" challenge which is "Ribbon and Trim"
I hope you like it !

"Think Pink".... and " Ribbons"

Here is my card for the "Theme Thursday" challenge...which is "Think Pink"...chosen to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness month.
it is also for the "Rainbow Lady" challenge ...which is "Ribbons"
I ran the satin ribbon across my scissors to curl the ends and used silicone glue to hold the ribbon in place after letting it fall naturally onto the card. This card will be for a christmas day birthday ....hence the mistletoe paper !
I hope you like what I've done.

Theme Thursday....

Theme Thursday have chosen statuary (or stonework)for this weeks challenge.
The only thing I could find that even came close to anything "statues" was this postage stamp with King Tut on.....so I hope I can scrape by with this one!
I took the pic at an angle so the words on the stamp are clear enough to read.
(The background (rubber) stamps are from Judikins artifacts cube.)
Hope you like !

Tag....Wings.....Twirls and Swirls........!

Here is a tag made with the lovely fairy stamps that I "won" from "Tag You're It" I'm so glad my name came out of the hat for these as they are really cute. I thought I'd have a play with some acetate for a change so here is what I came up with. (I've used my own swirls for the corners) The acetate is held by the butterfly and the ribbon. There's only one snag with laying acetate over glitter card....the glitter scratches the ink off if you aren't careful!!! (so thats something else I've learned then ...Lol !)
Well I hope you like this one....!

I would like to enter this for Rainbow Lady's challenge (swirls)....
Theme Thursday (Tags)....
and...This week It's All About...(wings)

"Hearts" Card

Here is a card I've made for a special wedding anniversary. I haven't put any words on it yet as I don't want to give away who it is for !!!
I thought I would put it forward for this weeks challenge on "Theme Thursday" which is "Hearts"
It was made using the "bookatrix" and the "tall story" keepsake boards. I extended the size of the base card and scalloped the outer edges so I could marry up the two boards.....I hope you like this one !

Favourite Holiday (Challenge)

My favourite holiday is christmas so here's a mini book/card I've made for the Theme Thursday challenge. (It measures 4 inches by 3 and a half inches when closed) I've tried to show the different phases of opening it. I tried to do an explosion card and after "messing about"(!) I ended up with a star shape so I have been here all morning seeing stars and ended up with this ...lol.
One of the pics is a bit fuzzy but I never seem to be able to take a decent pic of anything shiny....I will have another try later when the light changes a bit....but dont hold your breathe !
Hope you like it....and...Merry Christmas everyone...!
*runs for cover *

The Layers of Colour challenge this week is "Cake"
Any excuse to think about cake is fine by me ....
so this has been a lovely challenge.
I hope you think my entry is good enough to eat.... Lol !

I have also entered this in the "Hat" challenge on Theme Thursday

I wonder if the birthday girl will put her "hat" away in a hatbox or a cakebox...?Lol
