Exotic Birds

Here are my "exotic birds" for the "Layers of Colour" challenge this week.
It's taken a while to dry as I've put two coats of pva glue over it as it looked a bit stark.
Hope you like it !

Christmas Tag Card

Rainbow Lady has challenged us to make christmas tags this week.
I have made a Christmas "Tag" Card and also two tags.

"Circle of Love"

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last Saturday so it seemed nice to commemorate it with a poem in a little church.
I would like to add this to my other piece for the challenge on "Dans Ma Maison il y a ..."
Hope you like it !

Layers of Colour....Lavender

I finally got to do the "Layers of Colour" challenge which this week is "Lavender"
I cut some sprigs of lavender from my own garden for this one so I hope it drys out OK so that I can keep the piece !
I think you can guess how the rest was done ... (I used my fav pearlised water colours again)
I hope you can manage to "take time" to enjoy the flowers and the lovely weather we are having at the moment.

Rose Cottage 2

Here is my "house" for "Dans Ma Maison il y a..." which this week is "poem"
I am a bit late as I forgot how long it takes for fabric paint to dry so I had to leave it over the weekend.
I used cocktail sticks for the thatch ...but you already guessed that I expect....!
Hope you like it !

Fairy Tag

OK.....It's safe to take your sunglasses off now! No more Orange....I promise...Lol !
Here is a fairy tag for the "Tag You're It" challenge (fairies )

I haven't got any fairy stamps or pics so I did what I could with what I've got.
It was nice to join in this challenge as I like doing pink girly stuff !

Thanks for looking and hope you like it.....!

ATC...Orange !!!!

I am a bit late with my challenge pieces this week as I've been away for the weekend. (It was glorious weather and soooo relaxing ...!)

Here is an ATC I've done for "Rainbow Lady's" challenge which is Monotone... If you want to do any stamping you can only use black.
The idea is to go through all the colours of the rainbow and eventually end up with a little book. I really like this idea but I found this a huge challenge and this is my third attempt! (My house looks like it's been "tangoed" ...Lol ...and there's no denying this ATC is certainly orange ...!)

I hope this simple ATC will be OK....!

"Hearts" Card

Here is a card I've made for a special wedding anniversary. I haven't put any words on it yet as I don't want to give away who it is for !!!
I thought I would put it forward for this weeks challenge on "Theme Thursday" which is "Hearts"
It was made using the "bookatrix" and the "tall story" keepsake boards. I extended the size of the base card and scalloped the outer edges so I could marry up the two boards.....I hope you like this one !

Tri-Card With Envelope !

Here is another triple card ...made this time for the "Created By Hand" challenge which is "envelopes"
I must say that making this took me back to when I first started making cards and I used to put a little card and envelope on the front of nearly everything !
I have used peel offs on the front so that I can also enter it in the DCM challenge.(which is to make something which uses peel offs )
Hope you like this new card !

The Eiffel Tower...

This weeks challenge for
"Dans Ma Maison Il y a...."
is the Eiffel Tower.
Here is my house
...and a bit of oo-la-la...!
Hope you like it !

BTW....I forgot to mention that I made the arched "window" to copy the shape of the base of the Eiffel Tower and put the word Paris in there because I figured that's what you'd see !

This is a tag I've made for the "Tag You're It" challenge. I hope you can manage to stand on your head and read the poem !
The Challenge was to use cream, red and brown colours. Mine looks a bit pink in the pic but I think that is because I sandpapered the life out of it to make it look old !
Hope you like it anyway....!

Another Oriental Card

I seem to be into making cards at the moment so here is another oriental one. I have entered this in "Rainbow Ladys" Challenge this week which is "Oriental"
The circle top right holds the corner to keep the card closed (if that makes sense!)
Once again...I hope you like it !

My Love....

I have done a 4x4 for a change. I hope you like it.
I've entered it in this weeks Theme Thursday Challenge
which is "Love,Romance and Weddings"

Pastel Card

Here is another layered card but without the need to weight the base card as the bottom of all of them are lined up.
I made this for the "Pastel" challenge on "Created By Hand"
(The fronts of the cards were stamped with versamark and embossed in white)
Hope you like it!

Oriental Card

Here is an oriental card I have made following the sketch for the Arty Girlz challenge. It is three cards in one and they all open (the top two cards are tied together).
Sorry its not a very good pic as the gold card kept flaring, so this is the best of a bad bunch I'm afraid !
Anyway...I really enjoyed making it so I hope you enjoy it too!

Brother and Sister

Heres a piece I made for the TGIF challenge.
The theme this week is "Brothers and Sisters"
I have made the background using the cuttlebug but I have used the debossed side and filled the pattern in with gold gel. I have used the same gold to do the dotty border on the bottom. The photo has been inked, then gessoed and the edges were burned using the lemon method. ( Lisa Vollrath's blog gives details)

"Rose" Cottage !

Here is my house for "Dans ma maison il y a..."
This week the theme is "Pink"
The crackled background stamping is from the "Artefacts" cube by Judikins.
Hope you like it !

Pic From the Weekend ...

Here is a pic of what I made over the weekend. I thought I would make something different to hang on my books.
By the way...if you want to make your own jump rings (for jewellery or card making) it is really wind some wire quite closely round a pen until you have about an inch or two...then slide it off the pen and it should look a bit like a coiled spring. Take some wire snips and cut through the top part of the "spring" and hey end up with a pile of jump rings !

What a Weekend .....!

We've been down to the caravan and we fully intended to make a start on the wonderful(?) garden we have planned for outside but it has been absolutely foul weather so we sat in the caravan listening to the wind howling, the sea roaring and the rain doing taps on the roof ! Still, it didnt matter too much with it being so cosy inside the van.
We left in torrential rain, after waiting a couple of hours hoping it would stop, so it was pretty hairy driving back...especially when we ended up in what seemed like miles of flood water. The police were there, thank goodness, and it was reassuring to hear a young one say "just take it nice and gently and you'll be OK" My DH is my hero today because I dont mind admitting that I was having kittens, but he drove us through it all as calm as you like.
The weekend hasnt been a complete washout though (!) as I just happened to have about my person a few jewellery making items so I have been playing with something different. I will post some pics tomorrow...I hope you've all had a crafty weekend.

4th of July

Good wishes to all American crafters today...the 4th of July.
Here is my tag to commemorate this day. I hope you can read the poem on it (please click pic to make it larger )
It is entered in the "Tag You're It!" challenge(4th of July) and also the "Layers of Colour" challenge(flags)
I didn't have any matching ribbon so my rosette is made from the card and paper that the tag is made from.

The background daisy stamp is on the Judi-kins "Carols Cube"
and the piece is 4x4.

Just Wondering ....?

I've been tidying up and was wondering what I can do with the challenge pieces I've done so far ( put them in the bin ) I haven't seen any ideas anywhere on the blogs I've visited up to now and the only thing I can come up with is a box under the bed !
I've just been having a chuckle to myself because now the challenges have generated a challenge all of their own !
